Ring-a-Ding-Ding!

So. Hi.

I've been scanning ASOS for cute rings, since I feel that my friend Male is seriously overtaking me in the ring-department, even though I love love love rings! Maybe I just need to refresh my stock?

So, I thought I'd browse on ASOS for some inspiration. Apparently the trend is rhinestone-animals as rings, and I actually totally dig this. I really found some cute rings, so perhaps I will find an addition to my diminishing number of rings!

ASOS Rhinestone Encrusted Alligator Ring

Statement ring. Featuring an alligator design with rhinestone embellishment on a gold-tone style band.
Price: 105,76 kr.

Oasis Crystal Bunny Ring
Silver finish ring by Oasis. Featuring a glass stone encrusted bunny design with contrast stone eyes.
Price: 115.37 kr.

Oasis Leopard Ring
Chunky ring by Oasis, featuring a diamante encrusted leopard head design and gold tone finish.
Price: 72.11 kr.

ASOS Extra Long Wrapped Vine Ring
Wrap ring, featuring a gold-tone finish with an ornate vine design and a wrap around band.
Price: 96.15 kr.

I know the last ring is a bit out of the category "rhinestone animals", but I just thought it was so cute. I love big rings, and this one fits the bill nicely. All of the prices on ASOS are very reasonable, don't you think? I encourage you to go check their jewellery out for yourselves, especially the rings!

MARC by Marc Jacobs

So. Hi.

I'm going to keep things suspenseful, and avoid showing you my lovely XX until the very end of this post! I'm having a lovely weekend, and so help me, you're going to hear about it!
S H O P P I N G

I'm not going to tell you anything about my XX yet. But, as you might know, I've had a little poll running in the sidebar the last few days. After Christmas, I found myself in possesion of 1800 kr., without anything that I want to save up for, and with many ideas as to what I could buy. So, instead of sensibly saving my money for another time, I, in my typical teenage fashion, decided to let my readers help me decide what expensive thing to buy.
I went shopping yesterday, prepared with all of your votings. And yes, I did buy one thing. With the moral support of my two friends, Male and Sara, and later Ida, I let go of my precious 1380 kr.

Did you guess it yet?

I am now the proud owner of a big-ass bag from MARC by Marc Jacobs! For my own money, I just bought something fabulous and long-lasting and precious! I don't think I'll ever be able to stop staring at it! Thank god it was on sale though -- phew, my pockets feel empty already!

Bytheway, it's extremely practical. It has like a gazillion pockets all over, and the black color goes with everything, while the lip-stick-kisses add an extra "wow"-effect. I still can't believe that I own this fabulous creature.

G I R L S '   N I G H T    I N

Afterwards, I celebrated with a real girls'-night-in with my friends, Ida and Male. We did the whole girly sleep-over! Gossip Girl, non-alcoholic mojito's, pillows and comforters all over Males basement, curling our hair, staying up until 3:30am, pancakes in the morning..... well, enjoy! Hope that it might inspire you to take a day off from partying and booze, and just stay in with some friends.

CHANGES!

So. Hi.

I'm really psyked right now. Today was just a great day, for so many reasons.

First of all, I accomplished making pasta for myself, WITHOUT burning the house down! This might seem insignificant to some -- but I am really, and I mean really not good at cooking. I haven't had much experience cooking by myself, and this was actually the first time I fixed an actually well-tasting and approaching-healthy meal for myself! (and BY myself, might I add)

This actually looks tasty -- I am so proud of myself!

It's simple, I know. Simple, easy. Here goes the recipe:

  • Boil water (duh) throw in salt (duh) throw in pasta (duh) cook pasta (duh)
  • Slice 6 cherry tomatoes into fourths in the shape of boats
  • Add sweet chili- or jalapeño-sauce
  • Add salt, pepper, and if you have a barbeque spice, I'd put that on too :)
  • Voila! Enjoy!

Well, the other, and slightly more important news is this:

I sing in the Danish national Juniorchoir, the choir which is a step under the world-famous Danish Girl's Choir, and have done so for about 1½ years. So not so long, actually. So, I was at choir today, rehearsing. In the break, my conductor called me, and 4 other girls over to her, and said that "she wanted to talk to us about something". Of course, I was a bundle of nerves -- it's not that Susanne, my conductor isn't nice, in fact she's great. It's just that I have never been called to speak to her in the break before.

So, she says: "Well, the reason why I've called you here, is to say that we are having auditions for the Danish Girl's choir soon, and.... I got to choose who I think should go to that audition. And... I chose the 5 of you, and another girl!"

OMFG! I'm auditioning for the Danish Girl's choir???? Already??? I've been singing in this choir for 1½ year -- some of the girls there have sung there for years and years!! I was so honored, I just couldn't believe it. I tried to act cool, though I was shaking like a leaf the whole time!

This is the Danish Girl's Choir, standing with our no-longer-princesse, Alexandra, their sponsor.

So yeah! I'm excited! My auditon's the 19th of January, so I'd better get my butt in gear at PRACTICE! Yikes!

So. Hi.

As you might know, I just spent Christmas in the States. While Christmas is a very important holiday to me, staying in Phoenix, AZ, means one thing to me, and one thing only:

S H O P P I N G

I bought a lot of stuff with my own money, I got $275 for Christmas, so there was a lot of spending power to go by! I also got some looooooovely Christmas presents. Well. Here they all are! Enjoy.

I'm not quite sure what to get -- I've been contemplating everything from a concert ticket to Adele playing in Store Vega, to a big blue bag from Marc Jacobs to the Lolita Boot from Jeffrey Campbell.

I wonder what I'll choose? Do you guys have anything that you are lusting for?

Some Things Never Change -- Bathtime Fun in 2011

So. Hi.

With a new year comes new things. New experiences. New friends, new enemies, new lovers. But some things stay the same. You are still you, no matter how much you change -- and I'm still me, no matter how much this blog might change. I'm personally hoping that 2011 will be "the year where the shit hit the pan" for me. I'm hoping that many things will change in 2011, and that my readers will want to see things change with me.

So, 3 days into 2011, I want to raise a fictional glass to us -- to the new year -- to change!

*   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

So, as a special New Year's treat to myself, I spent basically the whole day taking a bath. Yes, I'm serious.

Yesterday, and the day before that (I'm a little mixed up in the dates) I flew home from Phoenix, AZ. The trip took..... Well I'm not quite sure, with all the waiting, and the time-difference and all that. Okay okay, I'm taking some time to figure this out...

Denmark is 8 hours ahead of Phoenix in time.
Departure from Phoenix: 9pm (Phoenix time) so that would be... 5am (Danish time) on December 2nd
Arrival in Denmark: December 2nd at 11:30pm (Danish time)!

Omg, I travelled for 18½ hours! No wonder I slept for 12½ hours tonight!

Well, travelling for that long in a stuffy airplane always leaves my skin completely dried up, my hair a mess, and my clothes smelling of airplane-food. Ugh, that smell. It's something like the mixture of hand lotion, beans and brown-sauce-in-a-can.

As I said before, in a new year, some things have gotta change. But some things never do, like my joy for relaxing in the bath, and my love for cupcakes. Today, the two of them came together in my long, luxurious bath, which I decided to treat myself to. Here's my "recipe" for bathtime-fun!

 B A T H T I M E - F U N    W I T H    C U P C A K E    B A T H B O M B

The shampoo I use, which is my favorite so far. Is great to tame the frizz of curly hair!
FRIZZ-EASE Curl Around Style-Activating conditioner (left) and shampoo (right)

My newly bought face-wash and -scrub. I just switched brands, and I'm finding the change very welcome. These specific two product do have a rather bad smell though. Bummer.
ORIGINS Never a dull moment clenser (left) and Modern Friction scrub (right)

My favorite ORIGINS products. I use the mosturizing cream in the middle all the time, and it makes my skin as soft as a baby's butt! The spot remover is GOD, bytheway. I can personally garantee, that after 3 days, the pimple will have dissappeared!
ORIGINS Make a Difference face tonic (left), Make a Difference mosturizing cream (middle) and Spot Remover anti-blemish treatment gel.

Uhmmm. I have very dry skin, and have always used fat lotions from pharmacies and stuff -- until I tried this. It both smells good, and makes my skin soft.
THE BODY SHOP Shea Body Butter

This amazing cupcake-bathbomb was used with glee today by a giggling me. My aunt sent it to me via ebubbles for Christmas this year. Isn't it awesome? To use bathbombs, simply fill your bath tub with hot water, and drop the bomb -- it'll fizz and make the water all milky. Some bathbombs even have scents -- this one was vanilla.

Look at it dissolve!

After my bath, I relaxed in my fluffy new bathrobe. It's just the kind I wished for this Christmas. Uhmmmmm. Here I am, looking very clean and un-make-up'ed.
MACY'S Bathrobe, white

Well, this is me, signing off. I hope that you enjoyed my little bathtime-fun tips. I can really recommend all the products in this post, my favorite being the Shea Body Butter from The Body Shop. Take some time off for yourself in this brand new year, and remember to relax once in a while!
