Sweatbands, Pink Spandex and Drunken Aerobics.

The Pointer Sisters I'm So Excited

So. Hi.

Didn't expect that, did you now?

I guess I should explain.

Last Friday, there was a theme party at Aurehøj. And an 80's fitness-themed party does not go down quietly; nor, should I say, in black and white. No, for miles and miles, flocking around the school, all you could see was pink spandex, big hair strapped in with sweatbands, bodystockings and legwarmers. I don't think I've ever seen so much color in one place; in Denmark, in the middle of cold, grey January, that is!

So first, there was the warm-up party with the girls. Capirinhas and strawberry daiquiries, pink and blue and yellow and multicolored everywhere, a feast of pizza and falafels and drinks and girls laughing, crimped and pimped hair, drunkenly dancing to "I'm So Excited" while doing aerobics on the floor, and even more drunkenly singing all the way to the school. Then continuing to party into the dead of night, with flashing colors and a sea of sweaty teenagers, that looked like something taken out of a bad aerobics video.

In other words: fun.

Even though my own night was a little mixed and matched (with just a hint of scary drama and a few dissappointments) I'd say that this was probably the most colorful (in many ways) party I've been to at Aurehøj so far. So... That's gnarly!

Hope you all like color, 'cause you're about to get hit with a color-bomb.

And, just to clarify: NO, I would never wear this in real life. Haha.
